Have you ever wondered why people shy away from you? Do people ask you, "What's wrong?" a lot? Does your mouth naturally rest in a frown? If you said yes to any of these questions, chances are you are living with RBF.
What is RBF? Well its when someone's face, in its natural position, looks as if it is judging, scowling, grimacing or in just plain annoyance. Don't worry, you are not alone in this. There are many people out there living with RBF. Even celebrities like Kristen Stewart, Kanye West and pretty much all of the Kardashian family can relate to what you are going through. If you still are positive you have RBF, here are 12 signs you might be living with it.
1. People ask you "What's wrong?" a lot.
This is normally the first sign you have RBF. Many people come up to you and ask if you are okay. You may be totally fine, but something is triggering their question.
2. People leave you alone.
For some reason, people just steer clear of you. You don't have B.O. You don't have bad breath, but you still don't know why people take one look at you and dart the other way. It's not you, its them. Well it is you and more specifically your face. That's not a bad thing. People just aren't used to you yet.
3. People think you are judging them.
Just because you blankly stare, people think you are judging them. You are probably just planning when your next nap will be or what you should have for dinner.
4.People are intimidated by you.
You have been told you are pretty intimidating by people who barely know you. While this may be a compliment to some, to you it is another sign of RBF.
5. People can't read you.
People are always trying to figure you out and never can. You do a great job of not wearing your heart on your sleeve.
6. People tell you to smile more often.
Whether it is your mom, best friend or teacher, people tell you to smile, and they often say it when you don't feel like smiling at all.
7. When you try to relax your face in a smile it just looks awkward or fake.
Because you are forcing your face to smile, it turns out awkward and unauthentic. Your fake smile looks more like a grimace or scowl than a smile.
8. You looked annoyed by everything.
While you may be 100 percent into a conversation, your face shows the complete opposite. People often stop talking or get distracted because you don't show any emotion during their speech.
9. Even when you are trying to be nice it seems like you are being rude.
Your nicest intentions come across a sarcastic and rude because your face doesn't look happy.
10. People think you think you are better than everyone else.
No, you are not better than everyone else. You just have a neutral face.
11. Your real friends know how to break your RBF.
Your real friends like to poke fun at your RBF and try to see who can break it the fastest. This becomes a game to them, but you are happy to entertain them because you can keep a straight face longer than anyone else.
12. You have accepted your face.
After months of denial, you have finally accepted your RBF as a good thing. You have stopped forcing the smiles and decided to rock the scowl. In the wise words of Taylor Swift, "Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate baby."
To everyone out there hating on the RBF: I am sorry my face naturally rests in a frown. I like my face. It gives me some edge.
