15 Struggles of Having Chronic Resting Bitch Face

Not a day goes by where I don't get asked if I'm ok, simply because it looks like I have a dirty look on my face. Resting bitch face is real. It isn't easy to live with. BUT... I've learned to embrace it. Those who also suffer with this condition, you'll understand these struggles completely.

1. Getting asked "what's wrong" about a million times a day.

NOTHING is wrong but something will be if you keep asking!

2. Being told you come off as intimidating.

3. People annoyingly telling you to smile.

I'll smile when I want to, thank you very much.

4. Unintentionally giving out dirty looks like they're Halloween candy.

If you see me on campus or anywhere for that matter, and it appears as if I gave you a dirty look, chances are it wasn't on purpose.

5. Getting angry as all hell whenever someone says, "I actually thought you were a bitch at first."

Ok well this may not be totally false, but were you ever taught not to judge a book by its cover?

6. Being incredibly unapproachable in any social setting.

If I could see how nasty my RBF is, I probably wouldn't want to talk to me either.

7. Unless I'm laughing hysterically, my expression probably hasn't changed.

Those are pretty much my only two expressions.

8. Being polite often comes off as being rude.

My face takes over my voice sometimes, but that doesn't mean I have no manners.

9. Having to apologize for how your face looks.

"I'm sorry, it's really just my face."

10. Trying to fake a smile is just a disaster.

Appreciate the effort, pardon the execution.

11. Dreading any remotely professional situation because you don't want to give off the wrong vibe.

I advise some practice in the mirror beforehand.

12. Seeing other others who suffer from RBF and wondering if that's what you actually look like.

Seriously? It's that bad?

13. Losing count of the amount of times you've been asked, "What if your face freezes like that?"

It already looks like this all the time so what's the difference?

14. When your resting bitch face turns into your actual bitch face.

Run.

15. Accepting and embracing the living crap out of it.

I'm bitchy and I know it.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:
