You are chosen, worthy and so loved.

Why You Are Enough

We all have those days when we don't feel like we measure up. We tell ourselves that we aren't good enough, pretty enough or smart enough. We are constantly comparing ourselves to others and their "perfect" life. This is a dark place to be, because we fall deeper and deeper into the place where we are even more susceptible to the enemy's lies of how we will never be enough.

You are not defined by how many people follow you on Twitter or how many likes your Instagram picture gets. You are not defined by a grade, a job or a sport you play. All of these things are temporary. Why find your identity in something that will fade away? Find your identity in something that is forever. Find your identity in Jesus, and in Jesus alone.

You are worth so much more than a number on a scale or what others think about you. You are worthy because of what your Heavenly Father thinks of you. Humans are the only thing on this entire planet that he made in his likeness. You are made in the image of the Creator of the universe. He is the one who put the stars in the sky, and makes the sun rise every morning and set every night and Out of all his beautiful creation, he calls you very good (Genesis 1:31).

Even though we know that the One who set the world into motion took time and put effort into creating us, we can still forget or not believe this beautiful truth. So let's take a look at what God has to say about it...

"But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light."
1 Peter 2:9

You are chosen. You are wanted. God chooses you. He calls you his very own possession. This shows you his love and affection for you. You are enough.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

You are his handiwork, and he doesn't make mistakes. He has made you to do good works, and he has a plan for you!

“For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well”
Psalm 139:13 & 14.

This is a very common verse, but it holds so much truth. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. His works are wonderful and that makes you wonderful because you are his handiwork.

Your Heavenly Father has made you in his image and knows everything about you. He loves you. He chose you. He wants you. He calls you worthy. He is for you. He has wonderful plans for you. On your best days and on your worst days rest in this truth. Because of Jesus, you are enough and please don't ever forget that.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
