Everyone remembers those colorful bricks that let their imagination run wild, that is right it was LEGOS! This building toy could let you make about almost anything you came up with from a house to a spaceship, the possibilities are endless. Legos have changed a lot since I was a kid. First of all, they changed the skin tone of their mini-figures a few years back to make it more realistic instead of the signature yellow it was sporting for many years. Plus the play-sets become more difficult and also made some easier sets for the kids. But we all know that these sets that are more difficult are made for the adults secretly. Legos have been a big part of my life and I grew to appreciate them more and more as I got older. I remember Christmas morning picking up a present from under the Christmas tree and shaking it all around wondering what could be in this box. It made a rattling sound, like their were many pieces flying around in the box. I knew that it must have been a Lego but what set was it, that's an even better question.
As a kid, I would put these sets together and play with them for hours and in the process destroy all my hard work to create something new from the pieces. I feel like that was the point when I was little, because it let me use my creativity and imagination to create something new I could play with and have a new adventure. I would voice all the characters which ranged from Harry Potter to Darth Vader. I could always be found with legos in my hand and building or playing in my room. When I started to grow up, I really never out grew Legos at all. I received them less as gifts and more of me paying for the set I really wanted. I still bought Lego sets in high school and into college, but the difference is they are more of display pieces now then they are play-sets. Now I am 21 years old and I am still buying Lego sets to build and add to my collection. I just recently on vacation down in Walt Disney World, bought a Lego set which was Wall-e from the Disney-Pixar movie "Wall-e." Which is pictured right below:
I am a huge Disney fan, so I had to have it and add to my ever-growing collection. My collection consists of new sets like Ecto-1 which was the car from "Ghostbusters," The Delorean from "Back to the Future," A miniature Millenium Falcon and Tie-Intercepter from "Star Wars," and the biggest part of the collection is "Harry Potter." I am also a huge "Harry Potter" fan as well and I had the sets growing up from the earlier films, but a few years ago, they released new sets and I had to have them. But Legos mean more now to me than when I was a kid. My appreciation for them is huge and also they have become a great stress reliever at college. It just goes to show you, yeah I maybe 21 years old, but I still love me some Legos.
