Why Brewers Games Are Fun For Everyone

You don't have to be a sports fanatic to love a good baseball game.

Why Brewers Games Are Fun For Everyone

Take me out to the balllll game! Take me out with the crowd!

In all my life, I never thought I would utter these words and actually mean them. I've attended three Brewer's games already this season and I'm here to tell you, they're actually quite enjoyable. I grew up rooting for the Green Bay Packers on Sundays basically out of obligation. Green Bay is my home and driving past the stadium was a weekly occurrence. But sports teams beyond the Packers didn't really interest me.

Well, then I moved to Brew City because I became a student at UW-Milwaukee. The city is awesome and exploring every nook and cranny is just something a new resident must do. There's the lake, there's the third ward, there's the delicious food, there's the beer ... and then there's the Brewers.

After a year and a half in Milwaukee, I finally went to a Brewer's game. And then I went to another, and then another! What can I say, they really are fun.

So maybe you were me and you don't think a Brewer's game even potentially peaks your interest. But just like the Packers, out of pure obligation, go to a game and discover what makes them so great! I'll help you out with just a few reasons...

For starters, Brewer's games are a great excuse to be social with all your friends. When at a game, it is less than necessary to be paying attention to the actual sport for the full three hours. Not a problem when you have your favorites sitting next to you. Literally, you'd be surprised the multitude of topics you can cover during just one game of baseball. This then leads to the idea that you do not need to know all about the game. I know how baseball works, but I wouldn't say I'm a baseball rulebook expert. This being said, as long as you have the general concept of the game, it's fairly easy to pick up on.

I would say it's also fair to say that baseball games are really more about the fans than the players themselves. There are concessions for the fans to buy and raffle tickets for anyone to purchase. Fans can sing along with "Take me out to the ball game" and "Roll out the barrel" during the seventh inning. Brewer's game attendees are also encouraged to "get loud" and "make some noise" throughout the game. And let's be honest, be featured on the jumbotron is really anyone's dream as well. Yeah, most of the things at a baseball game that seem to be for the fans are actually to make money for the Brewers, but it doesn't mean they aren't fun!

Speaking of concessions, just the smell of heavenly ______ is enough to satisfy any soul attending a Brewer's game.

Something I've found is how easy it is to get free tickets to a Brewers game. School, work, friends, family, the gas station... You name it and they're probably giving away tickets. This gives any individual ample opportunity to enjoy such fun for free! If nothing else, use your free ticket to people watch because if a Brewer's game ain't the prime place to people watch, I don't know what is!

If I haven't convinced you yet, at least go for the good jams. Not jelly, I'm talking tunes, music, pop, hip-hop, rock, etc. Yup, they've got all the catchy songs that will stay in your head for the rest of the night, reminding you what a fantastic time you had at the Brewers game.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
