7 Place To See Holiday Lights in Georgia

Ahh, the holidays. What a wonderful time of the year! School is ending, families are getting together, joyful music is playing and, most of all, the beautiful decorations are in full bloom. Personally, it doesn’t feel like the holidays until I start to see some decorations around the town, especially the beautiful twinkling lights. Here are some places to see some fabulous lights around Atlanta.

Lights of LIFE

With Lights of LIFE being so close, it was one of the attractions I grew up going to. Every year there are the annual set ups (my personal favorite being the dragon in the lake) with new ones added every so often. You can choose to drive through or walk through the campus. It's one of the most affordable options, plus it's never really crowded so you get the best of both worlds.

Magical Nights of Lights

While Lake Lanier is quite a ways away, it is truly worth it to take the trip out there. The normal islands, full of waterparks, transforms itself into a magnificent holiday spectacle with sparkling lights. It caters to various ages and has lots of different activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Stone Mountain Christmas

Stone Mountain Christmas is probably one of the most popular attractions to visit during the winter holidays in Georgia. There's more than two million twinkling lights with much more activities to offer. There's movies, parades, fireworks, live performances and the all-time favorite Snow Mountain!

Holiday Light Spectacular

Located at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, there are over three million lights to line 1.5 miles of tunnel full of lights. Like most other light shows, there's something for everyone in the family! At Holiday Light Spectacular, there will be a carnival, letters to Santa, s'mores snack and more.

Holiday in Lights

Holiday in Lights is an annual Atlanta tradition held at Centennial Olympic Park. The park evolves into a winter wonderland with thousands of bright lights to have a spectacular showcase of lights. The best part about it? It's absolutely free.

Six Flags Over Georgia Holiday in the Park

Holiday in the Park is a new thing that Six Flags Over Georgia is introducing this year. It's going to be similar to Fright Fest but instead of spooky rides and scary monsters, the park will showcase over a million lights to celebrate the winter holidays.

Callaway Gardens' Fantasy in Lights

With Callaway Gardens' Fantasy in Lights being the South's best holiday light and sound show and on the world's "Top 10 Places to See Holiday Lights," it is definitely something you don't want to miss out on. Callaway Gardens' Fantasy in Lights has something for the whole family whether it be shopping, dining or story time with Mrs. Clause.

For this winter holiday, I know I will be busy trying to visit all of these fantastic shows. What places will you try out?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
