Stop making college students feel bad for not knowing what they are going to do for the rest of their lives. Do you know what you are going to do for the rest of yours? Did you know when you were 19 or 20-years-old? If you actually did, kudos to you, but usually that is not the case.

Maybe it was the case, but you still wish you would have gotten to explore other options as well. We have the chance to do just that, but adults almost make it seem like we don't. These are serious decisions we are making and it is probably best if we aren't completely certain in this moment in time. College is an important step into adult life, but it does not determine your entire existence. The degree you graduate with does not pave your entire road for you. This is the time for confusion and discovering new interests.

It gets incredibly stressful when people say things like we are running out of time and need to take things more seriously. We are taking things seriously. Maybe not in the same light in which you did back in your day, but we need to figure things out on our own. I, along with many other college students, could see myself doing so many different things, but I simply can not give you a straight answer right now. You might not be OK with that, but I finally am.

I used to be almost embarrassed when people would ask me what I am going to do after college, because unlike others, I didn't know how to respond. That isn't something to be embarrassed about. Right now is not "after college." Right now is right now. Right now, I get to see what I like and focus on what is going on around me. I will worry about after college when it gets closer to that time. Who knows the opportunities that will be around by the time I graduate! I still have so much time to figure everything out. We should, as Jordin Sparks would say, take, "One Step At A Time."

I will not be ashamed in the unknown, but instead excited that I am not minimizing my options just yet. The people who go into college knowing what they are going to do for the rest of their lives often end up changing their minds or wondering if that's what they really want. The seldom few that stick with the same thing from the very beginning, that is amazing. That is some passion and dedication right there, and you are a rare one.

College is not just a time to prepare you for the career you will one day have. It is a time to seek. It is a time to find what you are good at and what you enjoy doing. It is a time to learn what you hate and what you shouldn't be doing. It's a time to find your skills and talents while also improving in your faults. Overall, it is a time to learn about yourself and grow. This is the first taste we have at adulthood. We should not seclude ourselves to one future. Instead, embrace everything around you and learn as much as you can.

College students: now is your time to be unsure. One day you will need to have some sort of idea of what you are doing, but that time is not now. Stop stunting your present by worrying about the future.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
