As we grow up, we grow in and out of different friend groups. We are lucky enough to keep a special few people by our sides, but unfortunately many of them fall away. But hey, that's life. I personally think that we lose certain friends because we're constantly looking for the "ideal" group of friends, those people we can trust with our lives and be silly with.
When I think of the ideal group of friends, a couple of names instantly pop into my mind: Chandler, Ross, Joey, Phoebe, Monica, and Rachel. They have (literally) been through it all together. They fight but then they always make up, and are back to being the perfect group. Whether or not you've seen the show, I think we are all subconsciously striving to be just like them.
Don't believe me? Here is a list of why we all want to be part of their group:
1. We are all grown-ups, so we might as well embrace it and have fun.
2. It's a fact that we need people we can vent about things to.
3. We all want forgiveness for our wrong-doings (even if we ate their entire dessert after they specifically said not to.)
4. Friend talk: it's totally a thing.
5. Someone in the group has to be the realist so you don't have to.
6. It can be annoying, but you'll thank the Grammar Nazi later.
7. Are friends even friends if they don't occasionally flirt with each other?
8. Without them, we would've never discovered (as many) cool things.
9. What's better than getting to be yourself? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
10. Reaching a group consensus is easy.
11. Who else would you want to play in a fountain with?
Whether you and your friends are featured in a popular TV show or not, there is definitely a friend group out there for all of us. It's normal for friends to come and go throughout the years, but one thing is for sure: when you've found your friend group, you'll know it.
