To The 25 Students I Graduated From High School With

Let me first say that I honestly don't want to relive our high school days. I'm thankful for that chapter of our lives, but I'm also glad that it's over.

It's crazy to think that one year ago we were preparing for AP exams, getting pumped for prom, planning our senior prank and counting down the days until graduation.

I have to constantly remind myself that we'll probably never all be together again. We all go to different schools now. We might stay in contact and hang out from time to time, but our friendships will never be the same as they were in high school.

I'm thankful that I was able to know most of you for longer than just high school, though.

Whether it was on the fifth grade Spruce Lake trip, the Youth in Government trip or our eighth grade West Virginia trip, we had so many great times and inside jokes that I'll always remember.

The more I think about them, the more I miss you guys.

I miss watching Trinity play against Clay-Battelle in basketball. I miss hearing the morning announcements. I miss trying to get Khemkorrecters from Mrs. Dennis. I miss going to Chapels. I miss learning from Dave Ramsey in Mr. Boone's civics class. I miss a lot of things that I didn't realize I would miss.

Going to a K-12 school and graduating with a class as small as twenty-six students definitely isn't the typical high school experience, but I truly wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Students at other schools may have looked at the size of Trinity and felt bad for us. They probably thought we were missing out. I can't say that I know how much we missed out on by going to a small, private school because I never went anywhere else (and neither did most of you). But what I can say is that we knew every person in our class by name. We got on each others nerves, but we also had each others backs. We were a family. We genuinely cared about each other.

I'm incredibly blessed to have gotten to know each one of you and I want to thank you for all of the great memories that you left me with.

I hope you guys are loving college as much as I am. I hope that you continue to make new friends over the next few years. Most of all, I hope that we all choose to follow God's amazing plans for our lives. I love you guys so much, and I wish you all the very best!

Love,

Olivia

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
