Christmas TV specials are apart of what makes the holiday season entertaining. I watch TV movies and shows for the laughs and nostalgia of the past. Here is my list of five films and TV specials to watch at Christmas time.
5. An All Dogs Christmas Carol. I watch this animated film during the holiday season in memory of the times my mom would put the video in the DVR for me as a child. Also, an dog lover will appreciate the film. I am sure it will remind you of your childhood dogs.
4. The Santa Clause. I've watched this movie at least once for as long as I can remember around Christmas time. Every time I see it Tim Allen still has me laughing at his portrayal of jolly ol St. Nick. He plays the role well balancing humor and a serious tone.
3. Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Jim Carrey and his out of the world personality makes this movie a must for the holiday season. Even if Carrey's performance doesn't make the movie worth your while, simply seeing the actors and actresses dressed in Dr. Seuss form should earn a laugh.
2. Family Guy. If you enjoy Seth MacFarland's satirical and sometimes dark humor, two Family Guy Christmas episodes are sure toe entertain. "Jesus, Mary, & Joseph" the eighth episode of the eleventh season tells the Nativity Story with a Family Guy spin. And in season nine, episode seven, "The Road to the North Pole" tells the story of Santa and his workshop in a new light.
1. Elf. This movie released in 2003 tells the story of a human raised by elves. It is wonderfully funny as Will Ferrell plays the naive Buddy the Elf. The situations he gets himself into while learning human culture are sure to bring you laughs during the holiday season.
