Society tends to categorize science enthusiasts as black and white, boring, and uncreative. I can assure that that is not the case.
I must admit: it becomes monotonous to trudge myself from organic chemistry to differential equations to physics class every other day. While I love science, I also like variety and I need an outlet for my own thought experiments, analyses, and conclusions. I feel that writing, especially open-ended writing for a large audience, can satiate that desire.
Our campus itself, City College, can be notorious for being too science-forward--if there is such a thing. Contrary to popular belief, City College is full of blossoming writers and poetic ideas just yearning to be recognized. This is a perfect way to showcase the variety of talent we have here and to illustrate that we are not just an institution for science, technology, engineering, and math. It's time that City College turns heads all around the world.
