Tessa Schmitz

Writing is not a part of me. Rather, I feel as if I am a part of writing. My entire being has succumbed to my writing; it has consumed every aspect of my life. After a class, before my day has begun, beneath the covers of my lofted bed, or during a lecture, I am scribbling ideas or at least running novel or screenplay ideas in my mind. New plots and characters are plunging into my brain like a swimmer dives into a pristine pool. To understand that I write is to understand me as a human. That is my sole passion in life. However, I am also incredibly passionate about film- the cinematography, the acting, the meaning. I am in school at St. Thomas to do something with writing and film. But more importantly, I am in school to make a difference. I have seen personal turmoil, and I have watched external struggle beset my life, and I am extremely adamant about changing the world in some way. Philanthropy is important; being kind is vital. I am quirky, I am unique, I am driven, I am Tessa. And I am ready to write.
