Shelby Nicole Stilts

My name is Shelby Stilts and I am 19 years old. My family consists of My mother Michelle, my father Scott, aand my two brothers Dalton and Logan. I have a brother with a TBI which is a Traumatic Brain Injury. This is always one of the first facts I tell about myself because having a sibling with an intellectual disability it has shaped me into the person I am today. My younger brother has also had struggles with a blood disorder when he was young. Because of my two brothers, I believe in always looking at the glass as half full and there will always be better days than the bad one you are having. I love to go to the beach, my favorite color is purple, and my parents are the strongest people I have ever met. I have a best friend who is "my person" in life and my partner-in-crime. I have three cats and a dog I love so dearly. Once I graduate from college I want to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy with children who suffer from Traumatic Brain Injuries like my brother. My biggest goal though is to be happy because throughout my life I do not ever remember being unhappy. My family has had our rough times, of course, but in the midst of all it we have found happiness through each other and the laughs we share. I owe it all to my parents for being strong for us even when it seemed impossible. I want to make other people's lives better through my career and I believe the path I am going down I will. My love for my family and everyone else in my life I feel has given myself many different outlooks on how life should be. I want to work with the Odyssey because I have a lot to say. I have a positive outlook that I believe can connect through so many people. Every article I read I connect with. I want to write for family, friends, and anyone who will listen because I love connecting with people from all walks of life and I know I would be a great addition to the Odyssey.
