One of the subjects I am most passionate about is rhetoric. I love analyzing persuasion and arguments of social movements, campaigns, media, and social issues. Being familiar with both sides of an argument is important to me. I feel that too often people take the sides of the extremes of a pro and anti movement/ argument, and completely miss the middle. I want to research, give opinions, and thoughts on that "middle" area that not as many people focus on. It seems that focusing on the extremes are the main attention- getters in today's media: Pro-life;pro-choice, Black lives Matter; All Lives Matter, Police brutality; "I stand with the police", Democrat; Republican. That middle is important to a community because it's the place where they can come together on issues, collaborate, negotiate, compromise, and connect.
