Rhamer M. Bernardez

Growing up in a small town, just minutes away from the Big Apple has driven me to aim higher than the NYC skyscrapers. I understand how hard it takes for one to work in New York City. My mother, a nurse of 30 years and an immigrant from the Philippines tirelessly worked to be able to make it to one of the best hospitals in the city. It takes courage, strength, and perseverance, for an individual to be able to make it.

For years my generation has seen unfair, pessimistic, and bias news stories on television, newspapers, and online. It is time to change the way news is portrays "news worthy" stories and I, as a future journalist will be taking a part in that change.
