Olivia Kozel

I am a member of Brown's eight year direct admit medical program, also known as a PLME program. This means that I have already been accepted into Brown's medical school and don't have to take the MCAT. My passion for medicine stems from having multiple family members, including my younger brother, who have different medical conditions/diseases. It has not always been easy to deal with the stress of school and family life, and for a long time writing has been my outlet to deal with everything I have going on around me. It helps me de-stress and recenter myself. I like writing pieces that make people think. I believe that in itself is the main reason I want to write for the Odyssey. I have read so many inspiring pieces both here and on shared posts on Facebook that have touched me and made me step back and think about something differently. It would be incredible to be given the opportunity to share my own thoughts and stories through the Odyssey.
