I have always loved writing, so I decided that I could be most effective through the written word. I have paired my writing major with a major in Political Science. I did such so that I could grasp a greater understanding of the world in which I live. I want to make a difference in the world through my words whether it be in the private or public sector. My dream would be to either manage a Non-Profit organization or one day be either the Press Secretary or involved with that individual somehow.

I have always enjoyed reading publications from The Odyssey by my friends, fellow Belles, and others. One of the things I most admire about the publication is the vulnerability from the authors of the pieces. They are not afraid to reveal weaknesses, strengths, failures, or successes. They tell stories of faith, love, heartbreak, political issues, as well as many other subjects. I believe we all have stories to tell and I would love to tell mine for others if I had the opportunity. I think The Odyssey would give me the best opportunity to share my thoughts, increase my skills as a writer, and become part of an incredible writing community. I've always been different being a biracial girl from a small, Caucasian, farming town in the Midwest. Different is a good thing and I think The Odyssey embraces that.
