I am from a very small town on the Canadian border in Upstate New York. I would say the name, but honestly it's irrelevant. Imagine rural Canada. I have two incredible parents, and two younger siblings, a sixteen year old sister and a ten year old brother. We live in possibly the loudest home on the East Coast, but the sound reflects our love (I know, adorable, right?). Coming from a very rural area in the Adirondack Mountains, I love being outdoors. This includes hiking and fishing and extends to riding farm equipment and horses. My favorite people in the world are still my high school besties, but I have also made many close friends here at Notre Dame. I am the first person from my school to ever come here, and I couldn't be any happier that I randomly applied. Thank God I found out Nicholas Sparks went here the week applications were due! I'm Catholic, I love sports, and I hope to one day be a journalist for the New York Times, but honestly, don't we all? I am always smiling and have the loudest laugh you will ever hear. Good thing I have it, because awkward things are forever happening to me. Lastly, I am a ginger with blue eyes, apparently the rarest type of person on Earth. In other words, you need me. I need you because I am going to be a journalist, and I think this is a great way for me to get published and really find my voice in my writing. I often read Odyssey articles and they always seem to brighten my day. I hope I too can be a source of joy for procrastinating college students.
