The Odyssey is a place where diversity in terms of prospective is undeniably important. I am a multi-racial adult female as well as a first generation college student, which is more common in my community yet there seems to be a lack dialogue when it comes to issues that are considered touchy. These issues can range from topics such as financial stability and work load to personal relationship and sexuality. It is vital that these topics are discussed because these things can make and break a college experience. Once a dialogue is open it can bring a community together and spark positive and engaging conversations that ultimately improve our community.
