Mary Murphy

All of life is a journey and college has certainly been a big journey for me. I've overcome the normal obstacles any college student faces, but I've also dealt with my own personal problems of depression, anxiety, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia. As I near the end of my college career, I'm able to look back and realize I've learned a lot about myself through relationships (both good and bad), the struggle of having chronic illnesses, and taking advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester. One of my favorite things I've discovered about myself is my love of writing. As a business student, any writing I am doing is very formal and technical. It is my hope that writing for The Odyssey will give me the opportunity to grow as a writer, to write about things that other people can relate to, and to impact the reader's life in some way.
