I find engineering interesting. It's a fun hobby; something to challenge the mind to create new things. It provides a useful way to think and interpret the world; it's applications are endless. And my engineering application is politics. I have always loved politics; it involves working with your opponents, never taking things personally, and being able to think outside the box. It spawns new leaders and inspires old ones. Writing about politics is as old as newsprint itself, and early American print greatly aided the patriots’ cause before and during the Revolutionary War. With the 2016 election approaching, I want the opportunity to encourage academic debate and increase political awareness on campus. The paper is still an important tool in getting the word out to student voters about current issues and political stances.
