Margot Farnet

I am exceedingly interested in the growing power of social content in the lives of the general population today, but even more so in the lives of young adults. Because I am a college student, I am well situated to find progressively relevant stories in my community. The individual story is a medium that is particularly interesting to me. Within the realm of our increasingly connected world, the individual story now has the ability to be formed, broadcasted and shared in a greater capacity than ever before. Through the lens of social content, I hope to use my unique voice to find these incredible, personal stories and share them with others. Because I am an English and Creative Writing major, I spend most of my time reading, writing and evaluating different forms of literary art. Language is one of the most important outlets in my life. I believe it has the power to bring about social movements and public art. As a personal hobby, I enjoy creating films and taking pictures of uncharacteristically beautiful things. I hope that my self-expression through these mediums can one day provoke healthy change in my community.
