I grew up suffering with middle child syndrome on a farm in Weeping Water, NE. No, it's okay. I didn't expect you to know where that would be (smack dab in the middle of Omaha and Lincoln). I delighted in playing with my cows and cats, reading, and spying on my family while recording their actions in a super top secret spy journal.
Throughout high school, I was extremely active in the arts. I sang soprano in and choir, played baritone in the band, and held roles in One Act plays and the All-School musical. I was also heavily involved in journalism, working on the yearbook and managing school website articles as editor-in-chief my senior year. Mock trial, NHS, and FCCLA were also thrown into the mix of my high school life.
At Doane, I'm a member of the departments of theatre and vocal music. I am a Secondary English Language Arts Education major, which is just a fancy, long way to say "I'm going to teach English but also be endorsed in Journalism and Theatre." I'm also getting my ESL endorsement to teach English as a second language.
