Lily Acheampomaa-Piasare

I am the first child of two African immigrants. Growing up, that always gave me a different perspective on life. I lived an extremely sheltered life and now that I'm on my own in college, I am finally discovering who I am as an individual. I am enjoying new levels of freedom and independence and I've come to value those blessings more than anything. As sheltered of a life as I lived, I don't resent my family one bit. They mean the absolute world to me and now that I'm older, I understand the logic behind every decision they make. I understand that it is because of them that I am where I am now. I have learned not just to view the glass as half full, but rather to appreciate the fact that I have water to drink in the first place. I want to use the Odyssey platform to emphasize the importance of a positive mindset and a positive heart. I want to spread love to anyone and everyone I can. I want to spread self love because I truly believe that from that emanates all types of love and I can think of no better way to spread that than through the Odyssey.
