I've tried to do a lot of things in 19 years, but the most important has been making people smile. Being a friend can make people smile, like being a team-mate on soccer or track or a fellow band and choir member. Being a guide can make people smile, like being a counselor at summer camp or simply putting some high schoolers at ease about going to college. Small things people love can make them smile, like fun socks, a favorite movie, a smoothie during a long study session, or a daydream about their favorite vacation spot (personally I am a Disney fanatic, but I also fell in love with Nice, France on my 18th birthday). If I can make one person smile, laugh, or just relax in knowing someone relates by sharing my experiences and perspectives on this crazy world, I'll be happy. We all know how crazy it can be, especially being a college student just figuring everything out. A little bit of conversation can bring a little bit of sunshine, and I'm proud to shed a little light.
