Kimberly Nakayama

Hello! I'm currently a second year student at Portland State University studying English and Communications. I am interested in writing professionally, but I do not want to be too constrained in my subject matter. I want to write essays about subjects that exemplify my perspective as an Asian-American woman from Hawai'i. I would love to see more of a vocal representation of Asian-Americans in the mass media, and so I hope that this opportunity provides me and others like me with an outlet to speak to issues of race, gender, social inequality and also of culture and personal experience.
