I believe that expressing opinions and educating people, especially on differing viewpoints, is one of the most important things a person can do. Using the Odyssey, I would try to explain my ideas, opinions, and the happenings around the world in a way that would educate readers without offending them and making them feel as if they are stupid or wrong. I want to inform the reader in a welcoming and informative way, rather than one that would scare them away. I think one of the most important aspects of a community is knowing and talking about what is going on and who is being affected by what is going on, even the hard things and the things that certain people would rather ignore and not talk about at all. Raising awareness is the first step to understanding each other, the community and the world's problems, and making a change that needs to be made. I will write articles and stories that revolve around current events, personal experiences, and to bring attention to things that are easily overlooked or deemed unimportant.
