Jordan Yunker

I'm a student at UM-Dearborn in the Women's and Gender Studies department, potentially double majoring in Behavioral Sciences as well. I was born and raised in the Detroit/Dearborn area, and I am very passionate about the issues our city faces. I plan to work in non-profit with women and girls. It is my passion to help empower and strengthen not only communities of women and girls, but our LGBTQ community as well. As a queer woman, this is very dear to my heart. I have experience in organizing within the LGBTQ community at the high school and collegiate level. I am interested in the intersections between race, gender, class, and sexuality. In my free time, I'm in a community symphony and I work at a store that sells organic health products and groceries (I promise it isn't Whole Foods). I also love to write... and that's why I'm here!
