Joanna Chineme Abaraoha

My ultimate career goal in life is to become a physician. It is for this reason that I am a biomedical science major who participates in almost exclusively medicine related clubs and organizations. Yet, my first love has always been the written word. I believe this love comes from the struggles I had learning how to read as a child and the empowering feeling of overcoming that obstacle and surpassing my peers. I want to work with The Odyssey because I see this as an opportunity to explore my creative writing abilities. Although my current coursework is demanding (and only augmented by the fact that I am apart of many clubs and currently work as a swim instructor), I believe that writing for The Odyssey will provide the creative outlet that I crave.
