Writing is my happy place.
Since I've been able to hold a pencil
(or crayon) I've been writing. In the fourth grade I had my first poem
published in a collection of student work. After this my
writing-based-hubris exploded and I wrote so many poems I cannot even
count.
Aside from countless composition books full of scribbled
poetry, I have written many short stories. A very, very small portion of
this work can be seen here.
I have also independently designed, written and published the newsletter
for my Publix on multiple occasions. A large part of our monthly
newsletter is the “Associate Spotlight,” which has made me very
comfortable with personality profiles.
I went into college with
intentions of getting a master's degree in psychology, which stems from
my fascination with people in general. However, I was ignoring my
life-long relationship with writing.
So, halfway through my
sophomore year I switched my major to journalism and dropped psychology
to my minor. Currently, I am studying journalism and psychology at
Florida Gulf Coast University.
I am the editorial assistant for eBella Magazine
which entails writing more of my favorites—personality profiles, and
much more. Aside from that, I am also a student member of the Naples
Press Club.
My dream is to publish a novel, a collection of my poetry and to publish my own magazine.
