Jaleesa Vincent

I am from Brooklyn, NY. My love for writing has been since I was in the 5th grade. My love for writing allows me to be creative, to write my own story and to connect with people through my writing voice. I am also a lover of poetry, R&B, Neo-Soul, Old School and Jazz music. I am a self-published author of a collection of poems and before I graduate Spelman, I intend on writing another book of poetry. As well as writing, I am passionate about law and justice. After graduating Spelman, I intend to go to law school where I will study and focus on prosecuting crimes against women and children. I would like to write for the Odyssey because I feel that I will be a great addition to the team and it will be a great outlet for me to express myself, thoughts and opinions. I will also be able to inspire and connect with other writers.
