I have always been into writing. As my friend on the cross country team said: "I’ve had a long and happy relationship with words; since the earliest days my hands could shakily trace out the alphabet, I’ve been filling up notebooks at an abnormally fast rate with journal entries, short stories, emotionally charged essays, un-paragraphed rants, poems, letters I never sent, and other arrangements of words that don’t exactly fall under an easily named category." I have taken AP Lang and AP Lit before junior year, and next year I'll be exploring creative poetry writing. I love expressing my thoughts in words and I have notebooks filled with daily monologues I've translated from my mind onto paper. With this opportunity at the Odyssey, I will be able to share these with my community. I explore ideas from daily ramblings to politics to society's workings to motivational speeches to elegies. I also am in love with language--not only the English language, but Spanish, French, and Chinese as well. I have taken AP Chinese (and it was practically my first language growing up) and I'm fascinated by the interactions between different languages. I'd love to look into these topics if I were to be given the chance to contribute to the Odyssey.
