“I decided I was going to be fat for forever, so I thought it was time to start loving myself and my body exactly the way it was.” That is how Sarah Hodges, certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer, explains how she lost 90 lbs after a struggle with obesity that spanned several years. As an accomplished musician and opera singer, few would have guessed that the confident entertainer on stage battled privately with an intensely negative body image. It was through self-acceptance and making small habit changes out of self-love that Sarah was able to revolutionize her life and slowly achieve her natural healthy weight.

“I decided I was going to be fat for forever, so I thought it was time to start loving myself and my body exactly the way it was.”

After she transformed her body, Sarah’s friends and family began to replicate her methods and collectively lost hundreds of pounds. Motivated by their results, Sarah went on to obtain her Certificate in Personal Training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Within mere months she became the top producing trainer at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan and went on to become a Certified Health Coach through the American Counsel on Exercise. She also became a NASM Senior Fitness Specialist and was certified in Z-health Essentials of Elite Performance. Sarah is vigorously continuing her studies under the guidance of world-renown French Osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer, and his intense SomaTraining program based on the study of Bio-Mechanics. Through this program, she has obtained certifications in methods such as Advanced Circulatory and Respiratory Techniques, ELDOA (Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation of the Spine), Segmental Strengthening, Gravity Line, and Cardiovascular Conditioning Techniques.

Now Sarah teaches her clients that improvements in health and wellness are more fulfilling and permanent when approached from the perspective of a positive body image. After helping countless clients from ages 6 to 91 discover their authentic motivation to live healthier lives, she is bringing her radical message to a larger audience. Sarah is currently in the process of writing a book that outlines the steps she recommends to living life with a shameless body, and she speaks to a variety of audiences about motivating themselves in a shaming world.
