Hanna Nicole Stout

My name is Hanna Stout and I am a Music Education major at the University of Central Oklahoma. I play French horn as well as Mellophone and Piano. When I first started music, it was in the sixth grade at my middle school on Trumpet/Cornet. I then switched to French horn in the seventh grade, which even though it was discouraging at first, I fell in love with it when my mother encouraged me to keep with it for at least a year. I have always had a love for poetry and creative writing. I have taken multiple creative writing classes at my high school, as well as being actively involved with my high school Yearbook staff and Newspaper staff. I grew to love journalism and the way I could use my voice to make issues known. I even won an award for "Best News Article" at the state OSSAA Journalism Competition, which I was very proud of! I have also won countless music awards for things such as being selected for my regional honor band six times in a row and being selected for the All-State band and orchestra for three years in a row. I did not travel much in high school, but I have been out of the country once, to participate in the 2013 London New Year's Day Parade in the United Kingdom, as well as performing in Rome, Italy for parades. I have also made a few trips to Colorado for a Jazz Music Festival that I performed in and to Kansas City, Kansas and Texarkana for marching band and basketball band trips. As for any other hobbies I may have, I also work part time at CVS Pharmacy as a licensed Pharmacy Technician, and I enjoy watching YouTube and Netflix.
