I am always looking for opportunities to write and learn. That is why I became a writer for my school’s newspaper my first semester on campus, and then the column editor of the same newspaper the second semester. I have been writing for newspapers since I was a sophomore in high school, but I think this opportunity to write for The Odyssey would allow me to develop my voice further. This summer I have been interning with Group Tour Media. I have been writing, fact-checking and conducting phone interviews for their magazines and website. My goal is to continue holding internships until I graduate. I am working towards interning for Seventeen Magazine. When I graduate I want to work for a magazine in its editorial department. This coming semester, I will be the social media manager of my sorority. Our accounts include a blog, instagram, and twitter. I love having responsibility and I consider myself a leader. I have been looking for a new platform to write for, so when this was brought to my attention I jumped at it. The Odyssey is a great way to gain experience in a field that I’m studying.
