I grew up in the southernmost city of California where I could see the International Mexican Border from my backyard. Although my parents are both Caucasian, I consider Spanish my first language. I learned to speak, read and write in Spanish at 4 years old because of the immersion programs offered where I was raised. I now think, pray and speak in Spanish most of the time even though the rest of my family (besides my younger sister) don't speak the language. I am very passionate about the Spanish Language and Hispanic-American culture, which happens to portray a huge role in the diversity that makes up many college campuses. In other words, I'm an All-American white girl with some acquired latin spice and I am excited to share my perspective.
