Born by the sea on Long Island, I have since moved to the welcoming wooded hills of rural Wisconsin, and now my journey has taken me to be educated on the plains of central Illinois. My heart loves to explore different cultures and lifestyles. Fortunately, I was able to spend four months abroad living in London, England this past semester. During that time, I also traveled to Italy, Serbia, Denmark, and Wales with previous excursions to France and Ireland as well. Ideally, I bring a global mentality and compassion to my writing that has been fostered by my ability and love for travel. I am currently in both a Playwriting and Global Haiku honors course, respectively, to expand my knowledge and experience. I have written a few plays, one of which I directed my Senior year of high school.
One of the main things I struggle with is finding a way to make a difference in a world that is dealing with so much difficulty and sadness. Part of my mission in life is to help others connect with themselves and with others in hope of a more peaceful, loving society as a whole. By writing for Odyssey Online, that part of me will begin to learn what it means to have a platform for my voice and how to use it most effectively to inspire personal growth and change in those around me. I firmly believe in the power of varied, educated voices, and as a social media user, I am often frustrated by the shallow nature of articles circulating amongst my peer group. As a writer for Odyssey Online, I will do my best to add to the deeper, soul-searching, intelligent style of online articles; my aim to help improve the overall impact and meaning in online content.
