I think utilizing a platform with Odyssey will allow me to share my perspective and unique hardships with todays generation. I do not attend Abilene Christian University, but a small community college in Abilene: Cisco Junior College. Almost twenty-one years old and being a college student, I hold a standard for myself many do not hold or think they can posses. My Christian faith plays a major role into this, but also the hurt and pain I have witnessed close ones go through, not including myself by being a witness. Never being in a relationship or tempted into the partying lifestyle, I see people around me tempted and swayed into this appealing and sometimes harmful lifestyle. It is discouraging knowing peer pressure plays a role into settling for a lifestyle that can be painful, when more people need can stand up to being different to those who cannot see that pathway. My heart is to encourage and bring a new perspective when sometimes the world blinds or easily lets them forget that going down the small and narrow is not as hard as they think it is. Having good friends, motivation, and people sharing their light, the wide and destructive pathway can come to a slim, as well as choosing to go the other way rises. As I have stumbled across many Odyssey Online blogs, I never once left discouraged. I left reading a blog giving me empowerment, encouragement, and a heart to spread whatever I read to those who need to hear it the most. Writing is a passion of mine, but also a tool to let me express to others what some cannot bring. Having this opportunity with Odyssey Online would be incredible, whether it be one blog or a thousand, and to be apart of an industry that allows others to share their voice and to give back to our nation.
