Evelyn Arredondo Ramirez is a second year at GW majoring in American Studies with a concentration in Latino Issues and minoring in Spanish. She is from Bakersfield, California and is the first in her family to attend college. Evelyn is proud of her Mexican heritage as she is the daughter of two immigrants. Ramirez is the President of the Mexican Student Association at GW and works as the Community Engagement Specialist for the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute where she coordinates community service for her fellow scholars. She has worked for the Girl Scouts Nation's Capital as a PR contractor and also serves as an outreach intern for Michelle Obama's Better Make Room campaign. After graduation, she hopes to continue to advocate for underserved communities. She hopes to serve in the Peace Corps and continue her education in graduate school where she plans to get her PhD.
On her down time, Evelyn enjoys brunching around DC or reading books.
