Emily Lorraine

I moved to Upstate New York around 6 years ago after years of moving around because of my dad's job with the U.S. military. I am very close with all of my family and spent my summers staying with my grandparents and cousins. I always had a love for reading and keeping journals but when I got to high school writing became an outlet for all of my thoughts and a way to figure a lot of things out. That is what led me to choose St. Lawrence for my college. Besides being my mom's alma mater, the people and campus inspire me daily and it has already become home for me. Becoming a writer for the Odyssey for me meant to be able to share my experiences at my small liberal arts school with others, and maybe even be able to put words to the things they are going through themselves.
