As a junior in college, I've reached a point in life where I am not totally sure where I want to go or what I want to do, but I'm excited to see what's in store for me. I think I may pursue a MFA in creative writing at the University of Minnesota after I get my under-grad degree, but who knows. I don't try to plan too much anymore because it generally causes me more stress than is needed.
As far as interests go, I've always loved nature and the outdoors, simply because it's one of the few things that's not totally fabricated in our world today. I also very much enjoy reading, writing short stories and poetry, and doing odd/random art projects such as making candles.
I want to write for the Odyssey because I've seen some people I know writing for it and I figured I'd take a shot at it as well. As I said, I've always enjoyed writing, and in the last year I've been active on my word press account, dannypwrites. In my short career with word press, I've realized that I love writing about relevant topics for my peers. There is something very satisfying in shedding light on a part of our world, maybe from a different perspective than other people, and being able to share ideas with friends, family, and even strangers. I want to write for the Odyssey because I want to write articles that will have meaning and importance to the people around me who may be facing the same struggles and obstacles as myself.
