As a student attending one of the most prestigious liberal arts colleges in America, it is easy to forget about the outside world. Students tend to become so consumed in forging a future for themselves, that the community in which they inhabit tends to go un-nurtured. However, as a black male from a city crawling with people that did not have as many opportunities to "make it out", I cannot forget about those I am attempting to leave behind. Becoming a writer for Odyssey will allow me to be the voice of a people who has lost their hope.
