Lizi Savage

My name is Elizabeth Savage but I go by Lizi! I have a passion for photography and making a difference in the world and when those two concepts are combined they start a fire in my heart. In Oct of 2014 I was a normal healthy college student but one day all of that changed as I had my first seizure at 19 years old. The next two months after that would take me down a long road of emergency room visits, blood tests, EEGs, inpatient care, and doctors all coming out with the same answer "my body is so stressed it is shutting itself down." I was forced to medically withdraw from the school I was attending and Doctors told me going to school would no longer be an option for me. We thought the seizures would be temporary but instead they have become a permanent part of my everyday life. Here it is 2017 and I have seen more specialist than I can remember and been on so much medication I could start my own pharmacy if I wanted. The doctors still can't tell me why I am having these seizures or why it seems like my autonomic system is slowly failing. But, despite all of this I have learned to live each day as if it were my last. I have learned give this life all that I've got. People tell me my heart is to big and that I care to much but I want my heart to be big-bigger if even possible and I want to care even more than before. Our "world" is so small compared to the world around us and once we realize that, our souls are opened to amazing things. Together we can make a difference.
