Arlette Hawkins

From the capital city on the come up, Arlette Hawkins is a Richmond, Virginia native, studying Journalism & Mass Communications at North Carolina A&T State University. Arlette is an outgoing and creative honors student who aims to graduate at the top of her class and take the media field by storm. Arlette aspires to be the next Oprah Winfrey and takes every opportunity as a learning experience. Outside of writing for the Odyssey, Arlette is very active on campus. She serves as the Sophomore Class Secretary for the 2016-2017 academic school year, reports for Aggie News & Views, is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, and mentors honors and undecided freshman students. Although her load may appear heavy, Arlette loves to be involved because it keeps her on task and she loves helping others. Sporting a 3.94 GPA, Arlette loves learning. Her favorite classes are English and any of her journalism courses. The youngest of five, Arlette considers herself the most ambitious and daring.
