To say I'm a little sad about (technically) already being a senior at OU would be a vast understatement. I've met some of the most driven, intelligent, and passionate people in my short time in Athens. From getting involved in the community, to advocating on behalf of students, to joining a fraternity, I have constantly found myself evolving into a new version of myself each and every day.
This summer I am interning with L Brands (VS PINK to be specific) doing inventory deployment for the panties division. I hope to get a full-time offer upon completion of the internship in early August. I'm not entirely decided on whether or not I will immediately pursue further education after I graduate in May 2016, but it is definitely a goal I hope to realize at some point in my life.
My main reason for wanting to join The Odyssey is straightforward: I have always enjoyed writing. In high school, I was an active member of the yearbook staff as both a reporter and an editor. One of my very few regrets in college thus far has been not getting to exercise my talent for writing. Staying up until the wee hours of the night in the library making schematic reports for cluster was fine. Drawing parallels between our culture and that of the Chinese culture for my Communication Among Cultures class was fine. My personal favorite, writing analyses of famous economists' work was fine. But, it was never quite the same as writing about something in which I was truly interested. By joining The Odyssey, I hope to fulfill that passion and give the publication everything I can to help it get off on the right foot in its first year at Ohio University.
