I think one of the biggest challenges that we face in our society today is how we use media. So often it is used as a form of propaganda or brain washing but the Odyssey is different, in that it has many different topics and many different opinions. I feel like this approach to media is truly the way to make it a tool for social change rather than a tool for ignorance. I feel like the world needs more opinions on these challenging issues in the media in order for there to be real change. Furthermore, the world needs more writers who can courageously tackle these issues. Of course, I love writing about light hearted topics like relationships and love but I feel a strong need to use my past experiences to help others and I truly feel like the Odyssey is the perfect place to do this.
