Michael J. Kocourek

Growing up as an only child allowed me to develop very personal and close relationships with my friends from kindergarten through senior year of college. A large majority of these individuals I would easily call "brothers" and "sisters." On the other hand, being an only child allowed me to develop incredibly strong relationships with my parents. One aspect of those relationships was the love for music. Whenever I am asked about my musical interests, I answer by explaining my father gave me the classic rock and roll background (i.e., Peter Frampton, Van Halen, Styx, etc.) and mother showed me the dance-disco side of the spectrum (i.e. The Bee Gees, Gloria Estefan, and Amy Grant). If this write-up isn't clear enough, music is such a special and important part of my life. However, it's not the only aspect that is dear to me. You'll come to learn my interests in hockey (played for 14 years), music (cheeseburgers are the BEST), fitness (it's the new hockey for me, since I can't be a pro hockey player), and most importantly developing as a person (being the best version of myself I can attain to).
