Since I often have days where I have several hours between classes, I decided that it would be best to spend that time being productive. Yes, I do homework as well. But what I really mean is, I go to one of the two Fitness Centers on campus.
Like most people, gyms have always seemed to me to be a temple of pain (and gains). I don't know about the rest of the world, but listening to the slaps (good music) makes any painful situation enjoyable. Here's some of the playlist that I jam to while I work out:
1. The River of the Lord by Tasha Combs Leonard
Like most people, I often call upon the strength of our Lord and Savior (Jesus Christ) to get me through the pain of working out. This gospel track is so uplifting, and it really hypes me up as I do my overhead triceps extensions.
2. Baby Boy by Beyonce and Sean Paul
Everyone loves a good reggae bop! The smooth transition from gospel to dancehall is perfect. This song makes any exercise more enjoyable.
3. Oh Yeah by Foxy Brown
This island track will definitely hype you up. I like to listen to this as I'm on the bike or on the treadmill. It's such a catchy song, your body just moves with the beat.
4. Gold Digger by Kanye West
I must admit that I don't really like Kanye. But this track is fire. 10/10 would recommend listening to as you're doing some skull crushers.
5. B*tch Better Have My Money by Rihanna
It wouldn't be a playlist if Rihanna wasn't on it. This song just really boosts my confidence, making deadlifting that much less daunting.
6. No Flag by London On Da Track, 21 Savage, Offset, and Nicki Minaj
This song is newer, and it's got this gritty, addicting beat that I always play while doing any of the dumbbell exercises.
7. SpongeBob by Princess Vitarah
It may be a bit of a slower song, but the lyrics definitely make Leg Day really fun. Squats with dumbbells never felt better!
8. Big Daddy by Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill
Ignoring Meek's verses, this song is really good. I often play this while I'm doing cardio.
9. Want Some More by Nicki Minaj
This slept-on track is straight fire. It's the perfect song to end your workout, so do some light cardio, then stretches as you listen to it.
