You had the Midterm to Spring Break Survival Guide

and now I present the Spring Break to Finals Survival Guide.

All right, everybody. We've reached the downward slope of the semester. From here on out, it will be smooth sailing till finals. Hah! Just kidding.

No. From here on out, you and all your friends will do all they can to try and get your grades back on track. You didn't realize that all those classes you missed in the beginning of the semester would really affect you this much. Who would? So, it's time to get your act together and make good on that promise you made to your mom to raise your GPA...that is if it's not too late.

In order to make it to finals, and subsequently SUMMER, you've got to buckle down. Need some help? Look no further, UGA's Declassified Spring Break to Final Survival Guide is here.

Two months away...

1. Read and Write

Let's get back to the basics. You have to read things to understand them and you've got to write them down to remember them. You bought those texts books for a reason. Seriously. Stop looking at this article and open a darn book! Unfortunately, the principle of osmosis, which you should be learning about, doesn't apply to books and your head. So, open the book and read. Hey, maybe now your participation points will go up because you actually have an idea of what is going on in class. Who would've thunk?

2. Talk to your professor

OK, so this may not be the most tactful approach, but it's the most honest. Just tell them what happened and how lost you feel. Chances are they will appreciate the fact that someone actually came to their office hours. Even if their explanation doesn't clear everything up, extra brownie points won't hurt.

3. Let's Organize

You've read; you've talked to your professors; you've made those detailed notes. Now, all that's left is organizing it into a study guide. Channel your inner Leslie Knope and get to organizing!

4. Sleep

You don't have to panic yet. Finals are still almost two months away. You've gotten yourself back on track and it's OK to take a little break. Just... don't get too comfortable.

One month away...

5. Listen to that voice in your head

No! You're doing fine. It's going to be OK. You've still got four more weeks left. That's all of April! You'll be fine!

6. Review it

You are finally ready to study. You've done a lot to get ready for finals. Over the weeks you've completely transformed your study habits and now it's time to put them to work. I believe in you. You can do this. And, if you can't, just know you've failed your mother and yourself, so there really is no other choice but to succeed!

7. Spring parties... A.K.A. your worst enemy

Oh God no. Go back inside! Study! Don't even think about ruining all the work you've done. Stop!!!

8. Regret

I told you. OK, it's fine. Play it cool. Finals are still two weeks away. You certainly have time to salvage the progress you made. Go back and review everything. Start from the beginning.

One week away...

9. One word: coffee.

You'll need a lot of this. If you didn't get back on track after the spring party debacle, you've lost all hope. Coffee is the answer to that lost hope.

Day of...

10. Breathe, you did it!

Congratulations, you made it to finals. Time to show your stuff. Take a deep breath, (girl), and do your best. We all believe in you.

Summertime, WOO HOO!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
