Top 10 Things To Do Over Spring Break!

Every college student looks forward to Spring Break. I mean who doesn't want a week away from classes and the stresses of college? So here are my top ten things to do while on Spring Break.

1. Relax! Relax! Relax!

After all, that's why you got a break—to take a break. Yes, homework is very important but you can do it in strides. This is time to take care of you. Take long baths, go to the spa, do your hair and/or your nails. Doesn't matter what your doing, as long as it's relaxing.

2. Go to the Beach!

Doesn't matter where you live, find a beach and have some fun. Just find some sand, get a tan and splash in water like there is no tomorrow.

3. Eat some good food.

Whether its some home cooked grub or eating out with friends and family, eat a good scrumptious meal. Ramen is for college dorm life and meal plans are for when you're at school. Leave those at the door! Your stomach will thank you.

4. Do a D.I.Y. Project

You have the time on your hands so do a Do It Yourself Project. It can be anything, from food to a decoration for your dorm room to a gift for family and friends. You have the time on your hands, so make the most of it.

5. Road Trip!

This one can be a little pricey or not—it depends on where you want to go. It doesn't matter how far away it is, just go! Drive to another state or fly to another country, just grab some friends and go explore this beautiful earth God created. Visit another state. Go camping. Or go to the concert of your favorite artiste or band. Go see some great sights. You don't even have to know where you're going just put gas in the car, grab a friend and just drive!!!

6. Family and Friends Time.

You've been all semester with school so it's time to spend some time with friends and family. Plan a fun activity. Go out to eat or watch a movie. It doesn't matter, just hang out with the people who love you best.

7. Do something new.

This maybe something outside your comfort zone but it can be fun. You can do something off your bucket list, and if you don't have one you can create one. This doesn't have to be anything too crazy, just something you've never done. It can be as easy as baking cupcakes or as hard as cooking an exotic dish.

8. Read a book!

You've been reading for classes all semester, so it's time to read for fun. Just grab something random, read something inspirational or just re read your favorite series, it may even be more fun to start an entirely new series.

9. Netflix!

Nothing beats a good movie or TV show than a marathon of good movies and TV shows. Now is the time to watch Netflix and not feel guilty about it. Just get cozy, get some popcorn, get some juice and watch till you can't watch anymore.

10. Sleep! Sleep! Sleep!

You've earned it. the life of being in school is so demanding and often leaves sleep deprived. Now is the time to get all your hours in. Don't hold back. In my book, it's completely fine to spend one whole day of Spring Break in bed.

It doesn't matter what you do for Spring Break as long as you have fun doing it. You have the time—just make the most of it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
